Playing the Odds after Weight Loss Surgery:
Why Following Your “Gut Instincts” Can Sabotage Your WLS Success
This presentation is about the mindset and skill set that will help you thrive long term after WLS. You’ll learn to identify what will work for you by experimenting and measuring results. When you “play the odds,” you follow the proven strategies that have a higher likelihood of success, rather than follow the voice in your head that tells you what to do based on your potentially limiting beliefs about yourself and the world.
Bio:
Katie Jay is the founder and director of the National Association for Weight Loss Surgery (www.NAWLS.com). She holds a masters degree in social work and is a certified wellness coach. She also is an obesity survivor who underwent RNY gastric bypass in 2004.
Katie founded NAWLS because she wanted to create a safe, nonjudgmental community for bariatric patients who struggle with weight maintenance and regain, sugar and carbohydrate sensitivity, transfer addictions, emotional eating, and eating disorders. With the resources and information Katie provides, WLS patients receive the support they need to change their obesity mindset and unhealthy habitual behaviors, and to achieve lasting results.
