It’s a Wrap! Our Film is in the can! Tamika wins the Quilt!
This week end I was able to watch the filming of the documentary about Connie and Rosemary, the twin sisters
who inspired the creation of the WLSFA.
Mike and Toni Towe of BariatricTV drove nine hours to Sacramento all the way from San Diego with all their equipment in tow
and spent the entire week end filming a story so moving I was in tears several times just listening in from the other room. The Documentary will be release the first week of October
and our WLS Peep community needs to watch together.
I was thinking of an “Oscar Night” type event where we all participate at home, host small gatherings of local WLS peeps and watch it online at the same time and then make our own video responses to it with reviews on you tube or face book or both!
Having Connie and Rosemary in once place was magical. Connie was driven to California from Texas by Susan (known on you tube as CrossPecans) and her two sister. Talk about traveling, on Sunday afternoon another WLS peep Mandy and her son drove 6 hours to Sacramento from Klamath Falls Oregon to pick up Connie and Rosemary to take them to San Francisco to meet back up with CrossPecans! The love and caring our community has is unmatched! Speaking of wonderful people TAMIKA!
Tamika won Rosemary’s fund rasing challenge by donating the highest amount in a winning bid for a hand made quilt made by none other than Connie our Ingrual grant recipient! Tamika’s winning bid was based on a bible verse 252 so she donated $252.00. Rosemary raised $1,724.00
for the WLSF with her fund raiser. We encourage all of you to think of ways you too can raise funds for the WLSFA to help us help people get weight loss and re-constructive plastic surgery!
The WLSFA wants to thank Mike and Toni Towe of BariatricTV. Toni is a WLSFA Board Member who already volunteers her time for the cause. BariatricTV has donated time , equipment and expertize worth many thousands of dollars to make this documentary. Once completed we will use the film to help spread the word about the WLSFA but also to help educate the general public about what it is to be morbidly obese, the complexity of the issue and help the public understand the importance of weight loss surgery and the WLSFA mission to grant it to people of no means.
We are about to post the Official Meet and Greet Details so get ready to sign up! Look for that no later than tomorrow on the site. We will send an email to all web site members and face book event page members too!
