I am a wife, mother, student, and shipbuilding designer. I am from Dayton Ohio but I have lived in Hampton Roads Virginia for over 25 years.
Over the last year I have been diagnosed with arthritis in both knees, reflux, hypertension, sleep apnea, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, asthma, depression, and severe allergies. I am also on the road to get diabetes. Not to mention the small fact that I am severely obese with a BMI of 36-37.
I have always struggled with my weight and have failed with diets from Nutriystem, WW, Adkins, Low Carb, etc. I have lost some weight but always end up gaining it back and then some. The arthritis in my knees prevented me from doing so much including exercising, walking any length and enjoying my life and my family.
That is all about to change. My goal is to be 145-150 lbs and be HEALTHY. Why? Because I don’t want die!. My mom died at the age of 44 of a massive stroke. She suffered from high cholesterol, diabetes, hypertension and depression. I do not want to follow in her footsteps.
So, in the next few weeks I should have surgery date and be on my way to healthy!!! :D

ColorMeHealthy is wondering if anyone actually starts to lose weight while going through the approval process? It’s like Murphy’s Law, now that I am headed in the right direction, I am losing weight. What is the deal?
