Cyndi is a member of the Obesity Action Coalition, the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and the Texas Association of Bariatric Surgeons and Allied Health Professionals. Cyndi is the Founder and President of CJI Medical Consulting. The company offers comprehensive services to medical practices and hospitals around the nation. Cyndi concentrates on the development and implementation of the patient education, support group, and out reach programs, the implementation of electronic medical records programs and preparing Bariatric Surgery programs for Center of Excellence certification.
Cyndi is very interested and gets involved with any research studies pertaining to all aspects of the impact of bariatric surgery to reduce or eliminate co-morbidities as well as studies that pertain to the psycho-social aspects of bariatric surgery. Cyndi is the Co-Founder of the Texas Weight Loss Surgery Summit, the Texas Association of Bariatric Surgeons and Allied Health Professionals and currently serves as the President of the Texas Association of Bariatric Surgeons Allied Health Professionals and Co-Founder of the Prescription for Success Weight Loss Surgery Cruise and Conferences. Additionally Cyndi developed “Regaining the Momentum” a course for post-op patients who struggle with maintaining a healthy lifestyle after weight loss surgery along with a program called “Healthy Families” utilizing a multi-disciplinary team to teach busy families how to incorporate healthy meals and fitness into their busy schedules.
With a growing reputation as a nationally respected weight loss surgery educator and patient advocate, Cyndi Inkpen develops patient education and support programs, which are designed to reach patients at all phases, from initial patient counseling to pre- and post-surgery support and lifestyle development for long-term success. Cyndi has been instrumental in legislative efforts in Texas, testifying before the Texas House of Representatives and Senate to enact legislation that will improve access to care for patients seeking weight loss surgery.
With Master’s degrees in Public Administration and Marriage and Family Counseling and Community Counseling, as well as nationally accredited Bariatric Support Group certifications, Cyndi’s patient focus, humor and empathy, as well as her personal experiences have made her support groups among the most popular in Texas. Cyndi has completed all required course work for a Doctorate in Health Care Administration and is currently completing her doctoral dissertation, “CHANGING THE FACE OF CHILDHOOD OBESITY: ONE FAMILY AT A TIME: EXPLORATORY MULTIPLE CASE STUDY.”
I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as Chief Operating Officer for WLSFA as the organizations’ mission align perfectly with my goals for advocacy and education to improve access to weight loss surgery for all patients regardless of income. I bring to the table both experience and education in the field of Bariatric medicine and working with Bariatric surgery programs that complement the mission and allow me a wonderful opportunity to continue to pay it forward and help increase the long-term success rates for patients around the world. I love coaching and working with pre-surgical and post-surgical weight loss surgery patients.
